Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Hashmark. By creating an account or using the site, you accept them. They are written to be read, not to hide behind.
Short version
- Free play is open to everyone aged 13 and over. Paid leagues are 18 and over only.
- One person gets one account.
- Free play involves no money at all: no entry fee, no deposit, no cash prize, no wagering.
- Paid escrow leagues are not open yet. When they open they will be 18+, and these terms will be updated before that happens.
- Do not cheat, script, exploit, or harass other managers.
- Player data comes from third-party feeds and may be late, incomplete, or wrong. We do not guarantee scores.
- We can suspend accounts that break these rules, and we can change the service.
1. Who can use Hashmark
There are two tiers, and they have different age rules.
- Free play — 13 and over. Anyone aged 13 or older can create an account and play for free. If you are 13 to 17, you may only use the free tier, and you need a parent or guardian's permission to create an account. If you are under 13, do not create an account.
- Paid leagues — 18 and over. Real-money escrow leagues are for adults only. You will need to be at least 18 to take part in any league, bet, or payout that involves money, and the paid track is not open yet.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done through your account. One account per person. Do not share accounts or create duplicates to gain an advantage in a league. Hashmark is intended for personal, non-commercial entertainment use.
2. Free play and paid leagues
Free play costs nothing and stays free. Creating a league, drafting, setting lineups, waivers, trades, scoring, standings, and finishing a season never require a payment, a card, or a wallet. There is no entry fee, no deposit, no cash prize, and no wagering of money or anything of value on the free tier. Virtual-credit bets and pots in the Game Lab are simulation entries with no cash value: they cannot be bought, withdrawn, or exchanged, and they are never a prerequisite for playing.
Paid escrow leagues are not open yet. When they open they will be 18+ only, they will not be available everywhere, and they will be described clearly before anyone is charged — including fees and how funds are held in escrow. These terms will be updated before the paid track opens.
3. Minors, and what parents and guardians can do
If you are under 18, you can play free and that is all. An account belonging to a minor can never take part in a paid league, an escrow, a staked bet, or anything else with money at stake, and we do not knowingly allow that to happen.
If you are a parent or guardian and you want to review or remove your child's account, contact us through the contact page. We will act on requests from a parent or guardian for an account belonging to a minor, including deleting the account and its data.
We do not knowingly create accounts for children under 13, who should not use the service at all. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we will close it and delete the data. See the privacy policy for exactly what we collect and how to have it deleted.
4. Your content and your leagues
You keep ownership of the league names, team names, and messages you create. You grant us a licence to store, display, and process that content so the product works — for example, showing your team name to the other managers in your league.
Do not upload or post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringing. Do not impersonate another person or another team.
5. Fair play
Fantasy leagues are social games. Breaking them breaks the point. Specifically, do not:
- run automated scripts, bots, or scrapers against the API beyond normal use;
- exploit bugs instead of reporting them;
- collude with another manager to move players or manufacture a result;
- manipulate rosters across multiple accounts you control;
- attack, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and may void affected results. Report bugs or abuse through the contact page — reporting a bug is always better than using one.
6. Commissioner powers
If you create a league, you are its commissioner and you get tools the other managers do not have: editing league settings, managing rosters, and administering the season. Use them for the league, not against it. Hashmark is not a party to any dispute inside your league, and we do not arbitrate commissioner decisions.
7. Player data and scores
Player directories, rosters, schedules, transactions, and box scores come from public third-party feeds (including Sleeper and ESPN). They can be delayed, incomplete, corrected after the fact, or wrong. Scoring is applied to the data as we receive it. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any stat, and we are not liable for results that follow from a feed error. If a feed fails, the app is designed to fail closed rather than award wrong scores.
8. Availability and changes
Hashmark is provided as-is and may change, break, or be discontinued. Features may be added, altered, or removed. We may perform maintenance, and we may suspend an account that breaks these terms. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
9. Intellectual property
The Hashmark name, logo, interface, and source code are owned by Hashmark and its licensors. These terms give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal entertainment. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative products from the service without written permission.
Hashmark is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, or any of their member clubs. All team names and logos remain the property of their owners.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hashmark is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost enjoyment arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months or USD 50.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law. Where you are a minor, your parent or guardian's rights under applicable law are unaffected.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Hashmark and request deletion of your account at any time through the contact page. A parent or guardian can make that request for a minor's account. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits — will survive.
12. Governing terms
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and Hashmark about the service.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms go through the contact page.
These terms are written in plain English. They are not legal advice. Opening the paid track, and serving minors at all, both carry rules that change by country and state — have your own counsel review these before you rely on them.
